Thanks to Zazzle I am able to do something I never thought I would be doing, designing dinnerware. Now we are able to offer a complete table set, except for the silverware. For my first complete dinner set I chose a Nautical theme dinner set using my Sailboat Sunset design with a weathered wood background.

Mayan 2012 Calendar

The ancient Mayans predicted that on December 21, 2012 a major world changing even will happen based on their Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar, a 5,125 year long cycle. Depending on the school of thought, this event could be either a physical event or a human spiritual change. Some scenarios suggest astronomical alignments of the Earth, Sun, and the center of the Milky Way. Others suggest Earth's collision with a rogue planet named Nibiru.

The majority of scholars have dismissed any “Doomsday Event”, based on scientific facts or their understanding of the ancient Mayan culture and history.

But seriously, who cares? Can we stop the Earth from colliding with a black hole or rogue planet? No. Can we prevent an Earth wide cataclysm? No. Before you know it, we will be looking back at this prediction with the same humor and smirks we had for the “Y2K” doomsday prediction. Doesn't mean we can have a little fun with it does it?

Do you love the wind, waves, and sails? I've recently been working on a nautical themed series of art and design for sailboat lovers and enthusiasts. I've always loved the ocean and being on the water. All of my best vacations involved the ocean and boats. There's nothing better that I would like to do than sit and watch the sail boats on the water, except be on one! My best vacation memory is of sitting on the back end of a cruise ship in international waters and simply looking out over all that water with no land in sight.

These designs are a variation of the artwork featured in the previous post. But I think the text work and composition works a lot better in this version. All available products and nautical designs can be found in this Gallery.

Big update to PackRat Graphics Website

The other day I finally finished my update to the PackRat Graphics website. I added a new Home page and two store pages using the Zazzle store builder, one each for PackRat Graphics and SmartMouth Tees. Now I have to admit, prior to this project my knowledge of html and css was.. limited. But I forced myself to use just my text editor and a browser to create the three new pages. The bulk of the website is still Wordpress, the content management is just to useful to give up.

If anyone is following my products, they may recognize the image used in the new main header, it is the from the War and Heaven design that I had already created. But I like it so much I decided to put it into the header of the site.
